Description:

The MO-FK-003 uses a stainless steel frame locking mechanism for securing the blade in the locked position. This knife is designed to be a "flipper"; meaning that when the blade is in the closed position the finger guard protrudes through the handle making a lever for flipping out the blade. Press on the flipper/finger guard and the blade rotates out of the closed position and locks into the open position all in a single motion. There is no special mechanism or spring system that assists in this motion. It is all done with the force that you apply with your finger. Mode One has implemented ball bearings in the pivot to make the motion smooth. This is something that you will notice the first time you open the knife. This smooth opening action will break in with time and it will only get smoother and faster the more it is used. While the MO-FK-003 pivot ball bearings and "flipper" are there to open the blade quickly, the frame locking mechanism maintains a tight hold on the blade with a ball detent while in the closed position. There is a ambidextrous thumb stud for opening the blade if the flipper is not preferred or to aid in closing the blade.

The knife's blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel which provides a great combination of sharpness, edge retention, rigidity, and toughness all at an affordable price.  The blade is 3.25 inches in length making this knife very versatile.  Rockwell Hardness between 56 and 58.

The handle is ergonomically designed to be comfortable in your hand with the stainless steel frame on one side and a G10 composite scale on the other.  The steel frame lock side of the knife is thick, adding a good amount of weight to the knife. This added weight and thickness can be beneficial when using the knife for self defense or other tough tasks. The G10 composite handle scale is textured for grip. G10 composite material is very durable, tough, and can put up with a lot of abuse. 

The four position detachable low carry pocket clip is made of stainless steel and can be place in four different locations on the knife depending on your preferred carrying orientation. The factory orientation for MO-FK-003 pocket clip is on the frame lock side of the handle (right) and in the tip down carry configuration. There is no lanyard hole for the MO-FK-003.
